DIY Christmas Cards To Make With Kids

Last time I was going through my photos looking for something, I found I had these photos of us making some Christmas cards… so I thought, finally for once, I could write this post about them and share them with you guys – like, NOW is the time! Not in 3 months, when I remember again, and it’s Easter or middle of summer and it’s highly out-of-date! Yep, happens to me all the time. You too?

Prepare yourself for some preeetty (cute) old photos here!

If you’ve been by any chance reading this blog for some time (you have my total admiration – and gratefulness!- for getting through my ramblings!), you would have surely noticed, I highly value when we make things with my kids together. And when I say together, I mean, they really have their share of making in there.

(And darn, do I miss this crafting together with them lately, as there has not been much time for me sitting down to make something together..)

So, of course, when we went to make christmas cards, I really wanted them to be involved. So here are a few creations we made for the last few years.

(But what about me, mama?)

I forgot (or didn’t think) to make photos of the beginning of making these. But I think anyone can see what we made there.

Cut out a few rectangles of the size you wish your cards to be.
I decided I also wanted to add the “frame” inside, probably about 1cm from the edge (as our cards were rather small-ish).
Then we cut out some simple triangular shapes with Liv from some nice coloured paper. I think it was an old Degas Calendars from the year before.. anyways, I had it put away for the pretty pictures, which we massacred here a little bit :-))
Some we cut just out of normal green paper, I think.
We glued the triangles on our cards.

Then Liv painted some dots (a.k.a. decoration) on the trees/Cards.

Then Liv probably got a liking for the colours and decided to add more paint overall to some of the cards. :-))

Ok, I don’t know about you, but right now, I really want to go make some crafts with my kids!

I just now decided not to add the other Christmas cards here, as there are no photos of the making and have a totally different feel to them. Also I might have gotten really soft right now over those old photos… my kids definitely have grown since we made these!
